🎨 Zones & restrictions

Fine-grained configuration of each colorable zone of the 3D model.

Where zones come from

A zone is a part of the garment the customer can color independently (front, back, sleeves, collar…). Zones are extracted automatically when a GLB is dropped on the product page:

The result is stored in the product's zones_config (a zones array plus per-zone settings, indexed by zone position). See Products for GLB good practices.

Default colors

Each zone has a default color β€” the color the garment shows when the configurator opens. On extraction it is read from the GLB material's PBR base color; it falls back to #333333 when the material has none. You can change it with the color picker in each zone row (default_colors in zones_config).

Per-zone restrictions

Every zone has a restrictions panel (the πŸ”’ button on the zone row). Restrictions are stored per zone index in zones_config.zone_restrictions:

RestrictionMeaning
lock_colorThe zone's color is fixed and cannot be changed at all.
allowed_colorsRestricted palette for this zone: a comma-separated list of hex codes or Pantone names. Empty = all colors allowed.
no_textNo text elements (including player names) on this zone.
no_numberNo numbers (player numbers) on this zone.
no_logoNo logos, images or shapes on this zone.
no_patternNo background patterns on this zone.
no_drawingNo freehand drawing (studio mode) on this zone.

What the end customer sees

Restrictions are enforced visually in the configurator, applied each time the customer selects a zone:

Because restrictions are indexed by zone, switching to another zone immediately re-enables anything that zone allows.
